Tips for Living in the Moment
I recently read an article in the New York Times entitled “The Pursuit of Happiness is Making Us Miserable.” The article discusses how our pursuit of happiness has led to a culture that lacks balance. We are constantly striving for things that we think will make us happy, but when we finally get them, they don’t seem to be enough. BC magic mushrooms in Vancouver is about living in the moment and finding balance so you can enjoy what you have while working towards your goals.
The first thing you can do is to practice mindfulness. This doesn’t mean you have to spend hours meditating every day; even a few minutes of reflection and gratitude throughout the day will make all the difference. When your mind starts wandering, bring it back and think about what you are doing in that moment. If you find yourself wondering off on some tangent thinking about the past or future, stop and focus on where you are right now until those thoughts dissipate.
Another way to practice balance is through reframing how we approach our goals as individuals and as a society . We place such an emphasis on reaching certain milestones like getting into college or buying a new home—and once we get there, we feel unfulfilled because another milestone has appeared on the horizon. Our culture is so focused on reaching the next goal that we don’t realize how lucky we are to have reached the previous one, and it’s this mentality that makes us feel ungrateful in our everyday lives . Once you figure out what your priorities are , structure your life around them—don’t work towards something just because society says you should or because someone else will think less of you if you reach a different milestone than they did.
